The 5 Stages of a Social Media Detox. •

You wake up. Before you’ve even rubbed the sleep out of your eyes, you reach for your phone. It’s an involuntary, automatic action by now. You don’t even realise you’re doing it. It’s probably not a totally unrealistic assumption that the first thing most of us think of when we wake up is our phone. What did we miss? Who got up to what and where during the few hours we were asleep? What current memes will give us a quick giggle? You lie there in the dark and scroll through the eternal flood of

In Your Dreams

Dreaming is a major part of being human. Everybody does it. In fact, people usually dream about four to six times a night, with these dreams generally lasting anywhere between five and 20 minutes. According to psychologist Robert Feldman, the average person will have around 150 000 dreams by the time they’re 70, although most of these (about 95%) are forgotten shortly after a person wakes up. This is why many people claim that they don’t dream at all.

What Your Quarter Life Crisis Is Trying to Tell You. •

Disillusionment. That’s the one word that comes to mind when I consider this chapter of my life. And a feeling of isolation – one that I’ve never experienced on such an intense level before. This was my language to describe something for which I had no frame of reference, until the other day when I was bingeing TED Talks on self-love, loneliness and coping with the monotony of life (it was a particularly gloomy day, I’ll admit) - and evidently I had searched all the right key words to lead me to the term that seems to encompass all of the above. ABCs of CBD

In the 1940s, CBD was identified and distinguished as an individual chemical property of cannabis, with the initial studies on its effectiveness in treating epilepsy to follow only a few decades later. In fact, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will have noticed that it’s being talked about especially frequently nowadays.

Liquid Gold

In the 17th century, mescal wine was being produced in and around the town of Tequila. Its popularity grew, and by 1750 an official industry had developed around it. In the 1890s, the drink formally began to be referred to as ‘tequila’. The Cuervo and Sauza families were the first to commercialise and export tequila to the United States in the late 1800s. Today, there are in excess of 100 tequila distilleries in Mexico that make more than 900 brands.
